Alice Anima Aboagye is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Accounting, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). She believes education is fundamental to personal and national development and as such should be a lifelong pursuit. Ms. Aboagye has a first class honors Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting Option). She also holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Accounting and is currently studying for a PhD in Accounting at the University of Ghana Business School. She is a Queen Elizabeth Scholar in the Advanced Scholars program organized by Carleton University.

She has about five years’ experience in Accounting related research and teaching, as well as administrative work. Prior to being appointed as an Assistant Lecturer at UPSA, Ms. Anima Aboagye worked at the Accounting department of the University of Ghana Business School as a Teaching Assistant. She also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at Lancaster University Ghana and Knutsford University College. Further, Ms. Aboagye also served as an Intern at the Accounts office of National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations. She has a specialty in teaching Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Financial Accounting. She has taught Accounting courses at the diploma, undergraduate and masters levels.

Ms. Anima Aboagye’s research focuses extensively on Sustainability Accounting and Reporting. Specifically, she has interests in Climate Change Accounting, Corporate Social Responsibility, Gender, Accountability and Governance of Non-Governmental Organisations and Social Enterprises, Accounting Information Quality, Corporate Governance as well as issues of Accounting Education. She has co-authored research papers published in peer reviewed journals. In terms of community work, she is a volunteer for HCD foundation Ghana.
