Alexander Preko is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Marketing, University of Professional Studies, Accra-Ghana. He holds PhD in Economics (Migration-Tourism Management) and MSc in Marketing from Moscow State University of Management.

He was the research coordinator for the department from 2015-2019. He is actively involved in the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data set from tourism, migration and marketing projects. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Economist, Ghana and Chartered Institute of Marketing of Ghana. His main research interests are tourism marketing, migration- tourism and migration.

He has written a book titled “A step by step SPSS data analysis and published several papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is also a reviewer for the International Hospitality Review, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Insight, Journal of Islamic Marketing and Journal of African Business. He writes news articles for the Business and Financial Times (B&T) and the Conversation Africa.

He consulted for the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Skill-up Ghana as the lead consultant for the “development of career pathways map for the Ghanaian Tourism and Hospitality sector, Uongozi Institute, Tanzania for “the collapse of the Microfinances in Ghana, Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Ghana for “Developing Policy Framework for Local Content in the Mining Industry” and Plan Ghana International for “RWASH”. He founded an NGO called “Third Sector Foundation” in Ghana.
