Albert Quashigah

Albert Quashigah is a full-time Legal Academic at the UPSA School of Law and has taught at the Faculty since 2015, and previously at the Department of Public Relations. He taught briefly as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Central University, Miotso Campus.

Albert was an instrumental member of the five-member UPSA Law School Establishment Committee set up in 2014 by the University, and chaired by Mr. Godwin Adagewine.

Prior to Joining UPSA, Albert Quashigah was an employee and a founding presenter of Citi FM and was the first Mid-Day News Anchor in 2004. He also broadcast news, and reported on many major news events such the 2004 general elections of Ghana.

A family man, Albert is currently the Host of “ANALYSES”, a popular factual, non-partisan, sober and solution finding discussion show on one of Ghana’s big media network, Starr 103.5 FM. Albert believes that, academia must interface with the community, and sees hosting the show as one of his core academic duties of shaping society.

Albert, since 2011, has written several full-page opinions on topical national issues in Ghana’s most popular and widely circulated print media, and in 2020 alone wrote several such opinions on Ghana and Covid-19 related issues as well as one on the 2020 Decision by the Election Management Body of Ghana to compile a new voters register despite an existing one.

He obtained his LLM (General) from The George Washington (GW) University Law School, USA, and was fortunate to secure an internship with the International Law Institute (ILI) as well as the Geroge Washington University District Radio where he created and hosted the show “Ghana Radio”.

He is currently enrolled on the Corporate Law Program for Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD)/PhD at the Widener University Delaware Law School, USA. (Delaware Law School).

Albert provides consultancy on Litigation Strategy and believes that, disputes which can be settled amicably should be settled, but those in respect of which the courts must be called, they must adjudicate. He is a member of the Law Chambers of Kasser Law Firm, a Corporate Law Consultancy Firm in Accra.

Albert loves novels, especially those which are themed around the law, Conspiracy and Historical events, and captured in rich language. Some of his favourite authors are Professor Umberto Eco, John Grisham, and Dan Brown.
