Dr. Abena Nyarkoa Asomaning is a Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Studies, UPSA. She holds a PhD. from the University of Lille (France) specialized in Health Economics.
She also has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lincoln (UK) and a Bachelor’s in Planning (Policy Analysis) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

She has a multi-faceted experience gained from years of working in both public and private sectors. Additionally, for over a decade, she has worked in the Civil Society Organizations’ space with special interest in empowerment of women and juveniles.
She is a prolific writer, a public speaker, researcher, human rights advocate and an internationally published author. She has authored and co-authored books, journals and articles on women’s rights, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the universal health coverage for Africa, the COVID-19 pandemic and others. She is on a number of local and international boards and has won many awards including one from the Queen of England under the Points of Light Award (as the 62nd young individual in the world) for her humanitarian work with women, young people and contribution towards development in Ghana. And in 2019, was recognized by President Macron of France for same. She is passionate, resourceful with great interpersonal skills and networking abilities. At UPSA, she teaches courses such as Entrepreneurship Development, SME Management, and Principles of Leadership, among others.
