Dr. Abdallah Abdul-Mumuni is a native of Yendi in the northern region of Ghana and a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). As an economist, Abdallah’s main areas of expertise include Open Macroeconomics, Financial Markets, Migration, Remittances and Welfare Analysis. As an International Relations person, his areas of interest are International Conflicts Management and International Trade Strategies.

Prior to joining UPSA, Abdallah had lectured at Zenith University College and Regent University College of Science and Technology, both in Accra. He also worked at the Value Added Tax (VAT) service (Now Ghana Revenue Authority) as a tax officer from 1999 to 2003. Abdallah was also a research assistant at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Ghana, a public policy institute between 1998 and 1999. He is the current patron of the UPSA branch of the Ghana Muslim Students Association (GMSA), the coordinator of the Muslim community in UPSA and a member of the UPSA Mosque Management Committee. He is married with two sons.

Teaching Statement

Besides doing research, I also strive to excel in teaching. Teaching is a perfect way to deepen my understanding of fields related to my research interests and to enhance my knowledge of other fields of Economics. I am open to teach various courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels. At the same time, I would be particularly interested in instructing courses in Financial Economics, Economics for Managers, Macroeconomics and Statistics for Decision Making at the graduate level. At the undergraduate level, I would be interested in instructing courses in Monetary Economics, Public Finance, Mathematics for Economists, Managerial Economics, Quantitative Methods and Econometrics.
