John is a Chartered Accountant who worked with Multimedia Group Limited as a Finance Officer in 2002 and was later promoted to the rank of a Management Accountant until he gracefully resigned in December 2010 to join University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

Currently he is in academia lecturing full time in Taxation, Fiscal policy and Planning, Computerised Accounting Information Systems and Financial Accounting at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) at the undergraduate and professional levels and also consulting for clients. John has presented four papers at International Conferences and moderated a session at the 1st UPSA Faculty of Law Tax Conference at the UPSA auditorium under the theme “Tax compliance and implications for National Development’’ in 2019.

Research Interests and Awards
John has published extensively in internationally recognised and ranked journals and his recent published paper: Does corruption cause tax evasion? Evidence from an emerging economy, won the 2020 Most Outstanding Emerald Literati Paper Award. He was also adjudged the Best Accounting Lecturer in 2019 at University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

His research interests include taxation, planning and fiscal policy, economic growth and development, corruption and critical accounting.
