Professor Okoe Amartey named among 100 Most Influential People in Ghana

Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, has been named among the 100 Most Influential People in Ghana.

The accolade is a recognition of the Vice Chancellor’s outstanding leadership and immense impact in the education sector, a testament to his exceptional vision, organisational innovation, expertise, and commitment to youth development and mentorship.

It was conferred on Prof. Amartey at the Most Influential People Awards (MIPA) ceremony held on Saturday, December 16, in Accra.

The award scheme seeks to recognise the top 100 Ghanaian entrepreneurs and accomplished CEOs from various sectors with exemplary achievements and contributions to the country’s development.

It also seeks to recognise individuals whose personal and professional conduct and accomplishments, combined with their respective positions of authority, have enabled them to exercise the most impactful influence on the socio-economic, political, and cultural fortunes of Ghana and its citizens.

The awardees were chosen through a multi-stage selection process which involved nominations, research, and ultimately approval by the Awards Selection Jury.

Prof. Amartey was presented with a plaque and a citation that read: “Your influence on the growth and development of Ghana as a nation and on the socioeconomic evolution of the people of its various communities has greatly improved the quality of life and their standing in the emergent global village.

“Not only have you served as a role model, but you have also created the opportunity for millions of Ghanaians to become the best they can be.”

The awards ceremony was attended by the award recipients and their guests, top public officials, preeminent captains of industry and commerce, some national thought leaders, social influencers, and members of the diplomatic corps, among others.

The event was on the theme ‘Collective Collaboration in Transforming Ghana’s Economy for a Better Future.’
