Prof Okoe Amarteyโ€™s autobiography launched

โ€œ๐€๐ฅ๐ฅโ€™๐ฌ ๐–๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ (๐…๐ž๐ž๐ก๐ข): ๐‹๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š ๐‹๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž ๐†๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ž๐ ๐›๐ฒ ๐†๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐†๐จ๐จ๐๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ,โ€ an autobiography by Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has been launched in Accra.

The book, co-authored by Prof Okoe Amartey and Dr Theodora Dame Adjin-Tettey, chronicles the life of Prof Okoe Amartey, who rose from a humble beginning to the highest level of academic leadership.

The 224-page book delves into his lifelong journey, lasting legacy, and life lessons and offers valuable insights into living a purposeful life guided by the principles of grace and Godโ€™s goodness.

It offers readers a profound glimpse into the journey of a man led by resilience, values, and unwavering faith.

Former Chief Justice of Ghana, Her Ladyship Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood, wrote the forward to the book while the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Legon, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, reviewed the book.

Speaking at the launch, Dr Theodora Dame Adjin-Tettey described Prof Amarteyโ€™s life journey as a โ€œrare one,โ€ emphasizing the importance of Godโ€™s grace and goodness to those that diligently seek Him.

โ€œYou learn about resilience, how much hard work pays, and how important it is to draw from the grace of God. Ultimately, you learn that God is indeed good,โ€ Dr Ajin-Tettey said, encouraging all to grab a copy of the book.

The book launch attracted high-profile personalities from academia, the corporate world, politics, media, and the clergy, reflecting the influence and legacy of Professor Amarteyโ€™s impactful career.

The first copy of the book was bought for 50,000 cedis by a private businessman, Dr Issah Mohammed, while several other copies were sold at various prices at the launch.

Various local staff unions and faculties, including the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-UPSA), Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA-UPSA), and the Faculty of Management Studies, bought copies.
