Information for Fresh Level 100 Students
Notice is hereby given that all level 100 students interested in residing at the University’s Hostels for the 1st semester of the 2024/2025 academic are to take note of the following:
1. All level 100 students should ensure they have paid their fees and registered their courses before they will get access to the Hostel Management System (HMS) to book a bed at any of the UPSA Hostels.
2. You can book any of the 3 hostels irrespective of your affiliated Hall.
3. Booking and payment for the Hostels are for a Semester Stay.
4. Hostel A, Matthew Opoku Prempeh hostel and Amon Kotei hostel will be opened for booking from Monday, 30th December, 2024 at 10am.
5. On the Hostel Portal, blue rooms are 4-in-1 rooms whilst orange rooms indicate 2-in-1 rooms. Kindly take note to avoid booking wrong rooms.
6. Payment deadline is Monday, 20th January, 2025.
7. Check-in and registration at the Hostels will commence from Sunday, 26th January, 2025 from 2pm.
8. Registration deadline at the Hostels is Sunday, 2nd February, 2025 after which all beds not registered for will be allocated to other students in need of accommodation.
Information for All Continuing Students (Levels 200, 300 & 400)
1. Booking and payment for the Hostels are for a Semester Stay.
2. A password reset exercise will be undertaken from Wednesday 18th December, 2024 to Friday 20th December, 2024 to enable all students who are unable to reset their passwords due to change of phone numbers to do so.
3. The first four (4) floors of Hostel A and Amon Kotei Hostel and first six floors of the Matthew Opoku Prempeh Hostel will be opened for booking from Monday, 23rd December 2024 at 10am.
4. On the Hostel Portal, blue rooms are 4-in-1 rooms whilst orange rooms indicate 2-in-1 rooms.
5. Payment deadline is Monday, 27th January, 2025.
6. Check-in and registration will commence Sunday, 2nd March, 2025.
7. Registration deadline is Sunday, 9th March, 2025 after which all beds not registered for will be allocated to other students in need of accommodation.
GENERAL INFORMATION
NB: PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN RESIDING AT THE
HOSTELS. You will be billed automatically when you book and you will be required to pay the amount.
1. PROCESSES FOR REGISTRATION, VERIFICATION, LOGIN & PAYMENT
1.1 REGISTRATION
a. All students are required to register on the Hostel Management System platform.
b. Students are to ensure they are registered on the USIS platform before attempting to register.
c. Students’ emails and phone numbers should be active and accessible, as login and verification credentials will be sent through emails.
Registration process
a. Open the Hostel Portal from https://upsahostels.com
b. Click on ‘Hostel Registration’ to open the registration form.
c. Enter your UPSA Student ID, email and phone number
d. Click on Register to process the registration.
1.2 VERIFICATION OF DETAILS
a. This ensures students’ details are correct and accessible to the student.
b. If the Student ID entered on the registration form is correct and active, the student should receive a ‘One Time PIN’ (O.T.P.) via SMS.
c. Enter Student ID on the verification form at their respective fields.
d. Click “Validate” to complete the registration.
e. If the OTP is correct, you will receive your password through SMS.
1.3 LOGIN
a. The UPSA Hostel Application can be accessed at https://upsahostels.com
b. Enter your username (i.e. your student ID) and password, which was created during the initial registration.
c. Clicking the Sign-In button will send you to your student Portal. Continue by following
the steps to reserve a bed.
1.4 RESETTING PASSWORD
a. On the Log In screen, click on “I Forgot My Password”.
b. Enter your email in the text box provided. Note that the email should be the email you provided during your registration.
c. From the email, click on the link received which should redirect you to the hostel application, asking for a reset of password.
d. Enter a password of your choice.
e. Clicking on the button will send you to the Log-in page for a login.
1.5 BOOKING PROCESS
a. Log-in to your portal, following the log-in process.
b. Select the Hostel of your choice (Note that the Hostels display the rooms available and
their respective rates.)
c. Select the room, followed by the bed of your choice.
d. Read and accept the rules and regulations of the Hostels. Feel free to cancel your booking if you do not agree or accept the rules and regulations. e. View your bill and approve your bed reservation.
Note that:
1. You will be billed automatically after booking.
2. You will receive an SMS confirmation of your reservation.
3. Beds will be reserved until registration deadline.
1.6 PAYING FOR YOUR RESERVATION
a. Pay the Amount billed into your InterPay account at the Bank.
b. Log into your InterPay portal.
c. Select to pay the automatically billed amount. (You should receive an SMS confirmation
of your payment).

3. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IF YOU KNOW YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN RESIDING AT THE HOSTELS. You will be billed automatically when you book and you will be required to pay the amount.
2. Read the Rules and Regulations governing the Hostels on the University’s website (www.upsa.edu.gh) before applying.
3. Secure a bed (successfully book) before making any Hostel fee payment.
4. Hostel fee payment procedure is the same as academic facility user fee payment (you pay into the University Access Bank account, the money will be transferred into your wallet, then you disburse according to other Hostel fee items on the portal).
5. No student should pay the hostel fees to any staff or student leader. All payments should be made at the bank into the University’s account.
6. Monies paid (disbursed) are not refundable.
7. Your secured bed will be taken from you if you fail to pay the Hostel fee by the registration deadline for each level.
8. Impersonation will attract severe punishment.
9. Hostel Management reserves the right to re-assign a student to a different room when the need arises.
10. Beds 1 and 3 are down beds whiles Beds 2 and 4 are top beds.
