Ivy Heward-Mills recognised in 2024 Top 10 PR Women in Ghana

Director of the UPSA Centre for International Education and Collaboration (CIEC), Ivy Heward-Mills, has been named as one of the Top 10 Women Public Relations professionals in Ghana for 2024.

The recognition marks her second consecutive year receiving this prestigious national honour, which seeks to celebrate women in the field of communications and public relations who have played exceptional roles in rolling out campaigns and shaping brand narratives through impactful storytelling.

Madam Heward-Mills, a renowned communications strategist, is celebrated for her expertise in international protocol, cross-cultural etiquette, and strategic public relations.

At UPSA, she has significantly enhanced the university’s global reputation through stakeholder engagements and international partnerships.

In 2024, she was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence, acknowledging her contributions to UPSA’s global presence.

She played a key role in organising major international events like the QS Africa Forum, which attracted participants from over 200 countries, and the annual UPSA Leadership Lecture featuring Lord Boateng of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords.

Her global impact also includes representing UPSA at high-level engagements such as the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council’s Global Advisory Council, alongside leaders like the UK Trade Minister and the Prime Minister of Gibraltar.

She was also a keynote speaker at the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit in Bangladesh.

Ivy’s outstanding stakeholder engagements have been instrumental in securing strategic partnerships that have enhanced UPSA’s education and research collaborations.

She is a strong advocate for diversity, inclusion, and women’s leadership, using her platform to open opportunities for marginalised students and champion women in leadership roles.

The annual Top 10 PR Women award is organised by Women in PR (WiPR) Ghana, an all-female professional networking body.
