Ivy Heward-Mills, Director of the Centre for International Education and Collaboration (CIEC) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has been adjudged PR Executive of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Executive Awards.
She also received the Outstanding Women in Leadership Award, in recognition of her exceptional contributions to strategic communication and institutional development.
With over two decades of experience in public relations, branding, and stakeholder engagement, Heward-Mills is a prominent figure in Ghana’s communications and higher education sectors.

As Director of CIEC, she leads UPSA’s internationalisation efforts, driving global partnerships and student mobility and strengthening the university’s international profile.
A certified John Maxwell leadership coach and corporate trainer, she is widely respected for her expertise in crisis communication, protocol, and organisational growth.
Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Professor John K. M. Mawutor, congratulated Ms. Heward-Mills on her achievements, describing her as “an exceptional leader whose accomplishments continue to bring pride to the university and inspire excellence across the sector.”

The Ghana Executive Awards celebrate outstanding leadership across various industries, by recognising individuals who demonstrate innovation, influence, and impact.
Earlier this year, Ms Heward-Mills was also named one of the Top 10 Women in Public Relations in Ghana for 2024 by Women in PR (WiPR) Ghana.
