ITSA inducts new executives for 2023/2024 academic year

The Information Technology Students Association (ITSA) of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has inducted its new leaders into office.

The new leadership that will steer the affairs of the Association for the 2023/2024 academic year is led by Zakaria Abdul Basit and Lenwood Nuongtah Brainy as president and vice president respectively.

Other executives include Cecilia Mensah (Secretary), Asiedeka Joshua Amartey (Financial Secretary), Gyamfi Godfred (Organizer), Halifatu Yakubu Farr (Women’s Commissioner) and Dijracor Benjamin (Auditor).

The rest are Tunfu Eliezer (Communications Director), Tenkorang Isaac Akuamoa (Electoral Commissioner), and Addy Kwadwo Desmond (Deputy Organizer).

One of the outgoing executives, Miss Dorcas Vinyo, receiving a citation of appreciation from Dr. Ben Ocra, Patron of ITSA.

 

Head of the Department of Information Technology, Dr. Godfred Koi-Akrofi, congratulated the new executives on their new roles while thanking the outgoing executives for their outstanding service to the department and the University in general.

He emphasized the importance of teamwork, innovation, and service as some of the values the new leadership must adopt, stressing that leadership is a continuous process which ought to be tackled one day at a time.

He urged the new executive to build on the successes of their predecessors while working to improve upon the challenges facing the Association and its members.

The induction ceremony was attended by Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Oware, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Studies (FITC), Mr. Bob Nakuku Baduon, FITC Faculty Officer; Mrs. Sadia Mahama, Departmental Officer (IT Department); and Mrs. Belinda Adzomani Diapim, Departmental Officer at the Department of Communication Studies.
