Housing experts encourage students to explore opportunities in the Real Estate sector

Stakeholders in the Real Estate industry have urged the youth to take advantage of the many opportunities in the sector.

Speaking at this year’s African Youth in Real Estate Conference and Entrepreneurship Fair, the CEO of Ghana Real Estate Agency Council, Nana Otu Turkson, highlighted the potential of the sector to create jobs and stimulate economic growth.

He underscored the importance of nurturing the youth of Ghana while sensitising them about the new Real Estate Agency Act 2020.

The 2024 African Youth in Real Estate Conference and Entrepreneurship Fair was organised by the UPSA Faculty of Management Studies in partnership with E-Wells Realty and Consultancy.

The event, which was themed “Choosing Your Career in Real Estate Entrepreneurship,” aimed to empower the next generation of real estate professionals and entrepreneurs in Ghana and across the continent.

The conference brought together students from various universities to build their capacities in the real estate sector.

“Youth development is an essential tool for national development,” Mr Turkson stated.

“Events like this conference help equip the younger generation with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the real estate industry and contribute to the growth of our economy.”

Lecturer and Research Officer at the Faculty of Management Studies, Dr. Mrs. Juliana Akushika Andoh, who delivered a speech on behalf of the Dean, explained that the conference formed part of a broader effort by UPSA and industry professionals to support the development of Ghana’s real estate industry.

She thanked the various speakers for their insightful presentations, stating that the conference provided a valuable opportunity for students to gain real-world insights and make connections that can help launch their careers.

Founder and Head of Mission at the AU Diaspora African Forum, Ambassador Dr Erieka Bennett, who was the special guest of honour, believes that Africa can create a pipeline of skilled Real Estate workers and entrepreneurs by investing in the next generation of talent.

She commended the organisers of the conference, stressing that the initiative will not only empower, educate, and inspire the youth about the vast opportunities available in the real estate sector but also drive the sector’s growth in the years to come.

The conference also featured panel discussion, workshop, and networking opportunities that allowed participants to learn from experienced real estate professionals.

Topics covered included property management, real estate investment, and entrepreneurship in the sector.
