Ghana Armed Forces Honours UPSA Lecturer

The Ghana Armed Forces has honoured the contribution made by a lecturer of the University of Professional Studies in Accra at its annual West African Soldiers Social Activity (WASSA) over the weekend. The Directorate of Public Relations (Public Relations Corps) of the Ghana Armed Forces recognized Mr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku of the Faculty of Information Technology and Communications contribution in designing, and hosting the forces website.

Speaking at the ceremony at Burma Camp, Colonel Aggrey-Quarshie, the Director of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces expressed the Ghana Armed Forces’ appreciation to Mr. Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku for the valuable and consistent support he has offered including  training of the website staff of the Directorate and other subsidiary services.

A citation was presented to recognize Mr. Ayiku’s contribution towards the growth and development of the directorate.  “He is a valuable and respected consultant of the Ghana Armed Forces, whose dedication and commitment has been truly outstanding” the citation added.

The immediate past Director of the Public Relations Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces, Col Mbawine Atintande (Rtd) asked Mr. Ayiku to continue to support the Directorate and the Ghana Armed Forces in general and lauded his contribution towards the growth and development of the Public Relations Directorate.

Mr. Ayiku who was elated by the honour thanked the Directorate for appreciating the contributions he had made and promised to continue supporting. “You can surely count on me anytime. It has been a privilege to have a great working relationship with the Directorate and the Ghana armed Forces since 2009. Let’s continue to work together.” Mr. Ayiku stated.

Present at the ceremony were officers and men of the Ghana Armed Forces and their civilian counterparts as well as retired staff.

About Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku

An Alumnus of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) where he studied Defence Management (DMC-8) Nii Ayiku Ayiku has other professional qualifications from Ghana and abroad including Web Technology and Web Communications.

Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku has completed three Masters degrees-MBA(MIS) and an MA in Distance Education and Electronic Learning (MA DEEL) from the University of Ghana and an MA in Public Relations(MAPR) from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

He also has Post-Graduate Degrees in Public Administration (GIMPA) and Mass Communication from the University of Leicester, UK.

He is an Accredited and Executive Council Member of the Institute of Public Relations(IPR) Ghana where he Chairs the Research and New Media Committee as well as facilitate the Professional Accreditation examination of IPR, Ghana.

He is also a member of several professional bodies, including the Ghana Journalists Association, the International Webmasters Association, USA and the Chartered Institute of Journalists, UK. He is a trained Digital Marketing and Business Process Management Specialist from the IBM Africa Academy.

Nii Ayiku Ayiku is a former Civil Servant at the Communications Bureau of the Office of the President of the Republic of Ghana, Deputy Head of Public Affairs at the Council of State and the Information Services Department of the Ministry of Information. He is an adjunct lecturer at the Laweh Open University College, Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Jayee University College, The African Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship (AITE)and a Guest Lecturer at the Department of Communication and Media Studies (Graduate programme) of the University of Education Winneba.

 He is a product of Achimota School.
