FAF Builds Urinal For Foster Home

The Faculty of Finance and Accounting (FAF) has constructed a urinal for the Christ Faith Foster Home, also known as the Frafraha Orphanage in Accra as part of activities to commemorate the Professional Week celebrations of the Faculty.The urinal which cost…an estimated GH¢ 1,800 was raised by students  unions of the faculty. The Faculty, additionally presented items including toilet rolls to the foster home.

Dr. Raymond Dziwornu, Dean of FAF, led a delegation to the Home to unveil the facility and present the items.  Dr. Dziwornu told the inmates not to allow their stay at the orphanage to make them sad “but rather see it as an avenue God is using to prepare you for greater exploits.”

The idea to construct a urinal was mooted by executives of Department of Accounting Students Association (DASA) and Banking and Finance Students Association (BAFSA) of the Faculty, after an initial visit to the Home to access their needs.

The caretaker of the facility, Mr. Abraham Danso said, the home was grateful for the gesture. .“We thank God for you and hope you continue to support us” he noted. According to Mr. Danso, the home which was built some 45 years ago by Ghanaian and German missionaries currently has a total number of 42 children out of which 12 are females.

Mrs. Patience Tackie Faculty Officer, FAF and Mrs. Katherine Assefuah, Lecturer in the Faculty were present to support. Also present were executives of the various student groups, namely, Mr. Moses Oblie, Elvis Akaku, Fredrick Blay, and other students.
