Online Teaching and Learning Skills For Faculty Members

UPSA

The Educational and Instructional Technology (EIT) Team in collaboration with the Distance Learning School is inviting all lecturers to participant in a training programme to acquire the skills for online teaching and learning using UPSA-Virtual. In the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year, e-learning shall be blended with face-to-face delivery of courses. Therefore, this training programme form part of the preparatory strategies towards the commencement of the 2020/2021 academic year. The details of the training are as follows:

1. Objectives of the training:
At the end of the training programme members should be able to:
a. Apply various learning theories to develop contents for blended learning
b. Create interactive and instructional courseware for online teaching and learning
c. Apply the various assessment tools and grading methods for both formative and summative assessments
d. Evaluate the quality of materials and activities or courseware for online teaching and learning
e. Set up the allocated course for the 1st Semester of 2020/2021 academic year on UPSA-Virtual for blended online delivery.

2. Date/Duration:
20th August 2020 to 10th September 2020

3. Mode of delivery and participation:
Mainly asynchronous online on UPSA-Virtual

4. Training Outline
a. Learning theories and online teaching and learning
b. Online course material development
c. Courseware setups
d. Online course management
e. Online assessments and grading methods
f. e-Collaborative/Cloud tools

All lecturers are to sign-in into UPSA-Virtual on the 20th of August 2020 to access the course
