The Research and Consultancy Centre (RCC) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and Deloitte Ghana have entered into a partnership agreement, solidifying their commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry.
The five-year strategic partnership was sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Deloitte head office in Accra.
The Managing Partner of Deloitte Ghana, Mr. Daniel Kwadwo Owusu expressed his excitement about the new partnership, describing it an a ground-breaking move set to align with Deloitte’s world-class commitments.
He said the partnership also marks a pivotal step towards fostering innovation, knowledge exchange, and mutually beneficial growth for both the academic and business communities.
“We are thrilled about the advancements this collaboration will bring to all stakeholders,” Mr. Owusu said said.
Deputy Director at the UPSA Research and Consultancy Centre, Mr John Paul Kosiba, who signed the MOU on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, emphasised the significance of the collaboration in advancing education and research initiatives.
“Over the next five years, we will collaborate on research, industry-specific training, and data analysis,” Mr Kosiba said as he outlined the key areas of the collaboration.
“It is also aimed at empowering our students and enhancing decision-making between the two renowned institutions,” he stressed.
The delegation from UPSA included Professor Joseph K. Tuffour, Director of Quality Assurance Directorate, Prof. Abigail Opoku Mensah, Director of the Centre for International Education and Collaboration (CIEC), and Dr. Benedicta Quao, a Research Fellow.
