Shai SE Matse and Former Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), His Royal Majesty Drolor Bosso Adamtey I, has urged UPSA graduates to go beyond acquiring academic credentials and apply their knowledge to transform society.
Speaking as the Guest Speaker at the Fourth Session of the 17th Congregation of UPSA, Drolor Adamtey encouraged postgraduate students to see themselves as agents of global transformation, capable of using their education, skills, and values to drive positive change wherever they find themselves.
“Knowledge is powerful, but knowledge alone is not enough. What transforms the world is the application of knowledge, not merely its possession,” he said.

Drolor, who is a member of the Council of State, reminded graduates that true success in life is not determined by what they acquire but by the value they create and the impact they make.
“True success is not measured by what you consume but by what you contribute,” he emphasized. “As graduates of this amazing university, your call is bigger than your immediate circle. Think beyond Ghana, beyond Africa, and see yourself as a global instrument for change.” “Once you are useful to yourself and others, those who need your value will seek you out.”
The distinguished traditional ruler outlined five guiding principles for success: discipline and focus, innovation and creativity, courage to overcome challenges, legacy thinking, and service through giving.

He urged the graduates to remain committed to their goals, embrace creativity, and strive to build solutions rather than merely consume them.
A total of 939 postgraduate students from the School of Graduate Studies graduated at the ceremony.
The cohort included 42 Master of Philosophy (MPhil) students, 614 Master of Business of Administration students, 154 Master of Arts (MA) students, and 129 Master of Science (MSc) students.

The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, congratulated the Class of 2025 on reaching this remarkable milestone and urged them to uphold the values of honesty, integrity, and accountability as they enter the world of work.
“Be solution-driven,” the Vice-Chancellor advised. “Go out there and provide innovative solutions to the myriad of challenges facing our society.”

The Fourth Session of the 17th Congregation celebrated the achievements of UPSA’s postgraduate students and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to nurturing ethical, globally minded professionals ready to make meaningful contributions to the world.
