Hostel Information for the First Semester 2020/2021 Academic Year

1.0   CANCELLATION OF RESERVED BEDS

Notice is hereby given that management of the UPSA Hostel has CANCELLED the earlier beds reservation by levels 300 and 400 degree and diploma level 200 Students.

The above decision is as a result of revision of the 2020/2021 Academic Year calendar by the University authority.

• NEW BOOKING SYSTEM

Management has introduced a new booking system at the UPSA Hostel which takes account of the covid-19 pandemic. Hostel booking will now be in two batches for the first (1^st) semester only.

2.1 First (1^st) Batch of Students

1. Level 400 degree Students, Tuesday 8^th to Friday 11^th December, 2020.
2. Diploma and Degree level 100 Students, Tuesday 15^th to Friday 18^th December, 2020.

2.2 Second (2^nd) Batch of Students

Continuing and top up degree levels 300 and 200 and diploma level 200, Tuesday 9^th February to Friday 12^th February, 2021.

 3.0 Check-In and Check-Out (First Batch), First (1^st) Semester

This batch of Students would stay at the Hostel for Six weeks (4^th January to 21^st February, 2021) and another one week stay for examination after which they would be required to vacate the Hostel for the second batch of students to check in.

3.1 Check In and Check-Out (Second Batch), First (1^st) Semester

This batch will check-in at the Hostel on Monday 22^nd February 2021 and vacate the Hostel on Sunday 4^th April, 2021. There will be another one week stay for examination.

4.0 SECOND (2^nd) SEMESTER HOSTEL INFORMATION

Students should note that securing a bed in the first (1^st) semester does not automatically mean a student will secure the bed for the second (2^nd) semester. Booking date(s), duration of stay and amount to pay for the second(2^nd) semester of the 2020/2021 academic year, would be announced later.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. The Hostel Management System would be opened at 10am on each opening day.
2. Interested Students could only book after they have paid their required academic facilities user fees.
3. Students are to read the rules and regulations governing the Hostel and covid-19 conditions on the University website (upsa.edu.gh) before applying.

PROCESSES TO REGISTER/ LOGIN /APPLY FOR BED

5.1       Registering

1. The UPSA Hostel Application can be accessed at upsahostels.com
2. Click on Register for Hostel, if you do not have account in the Hostel application.
3. Enter your username (which is your student ID) and an email address you have access to. Note: Password credentials and other correspondence will be sent to this email)
4. Click on the link sent to the mail you provided.
5. Enter a Password of your choice. You’ll be redirected to the log in screen when the password is successful.

5.2       Login

6. The UPSA Hostel Application can be accessed at upsahostels.com
7. Enter your username (i.e. your student ID and password which you created during registration).

8. Clicking the Sign in button, will send you to your student Dashboard. Continue by following the steps to choose your bed.

5.3       Reset Password

1. On the Log in screen, click on “I Forgot My Password”
2. Enter your email in the text box provided. Note that the email should be the email you provided during your registration or your student email given by the school.
3. From the email, click on the link received which should redirect you to the hostel application asking for a reset of Password.
4. Enter a password as you require.
5. Clicking on the button will send you to the Log in page for a login.

6.0 HOSTEL FEE FOR SEVEN (7) WEEKS FIRST (1^ST) SEMESTER –  2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Hostel facility user fees and related charges for first (1^st) semester of the 2020/2021 academic year are as follows:

6.1 FEES FOR 4-IN-1 OCCUPANCY ROOM

UPSA hostel facility user fee/student/academic year. :GH₵720.00

Hall Dues                                                                              : GH₵ 30.00

UPSA hostel initial electricity credit                                : GH₵ 20.00

TOTAL                                                                                 : GH₵ 770.00

6.2 FEE FOR 2-IN-1 OCCUPANCY ROOM

UPSA hostel facility user fee/student/academic year  :GH₵1,440.00

Hall dues                                                                               : GH₵     30.00

UPSA hostel initial electricity credit                                 : GH₵     40.00

TOTAL                                                                                  : GH₵ 1,510.00
