UPSA Law School places second at Law Challenge-Ghana 2022

UPSA Law School placed second at the just-ended Inter-University Law Challenge, held on Saturday, October 8.

The UPSA team put up a sterling performance throughout the 12-round legal education quiz competition, losing narrowly to the University of Cape Coast at the grand finale.

The team amassed a total of 73 points in the finals, as against the 75 points scored by their compatriots from the University of Cape Coast.

Prior to reaching the finals, UPSA defeated the University of Ghana in the semi-finals in a pulsating 60-57 point contest after defeating Zenith College in the preliminary rounds.

The UPSA Law School was represented by two final-year students, Denise Lomokie Dame and Abigail Abrefi Antwi, who was adjudged the best female contestant at the competition.

The Law Challenge aims to instil a competitive spirit among law faculties, shape the destiny of law students to become competent attorneys, and raise awareness of the importance of law in social, political, and economic progress while bringing the study of law to the doorsteps of ordinary Ghanaians.

The competition focuses on areas including Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Law of Torts, Ghana Legal Systems, Law of Contract, and Law of Immovable Property.
