Two graduate students of the University of Professional Studies, Accra have successfully completed and graduated from the University at Buffalo’s 2022 Leadership Empowerment Academy Program (LEAP), a one-year global training course aimed at equipping young graduates with the leadership skills to take their careers to the next level.
LEAP is part of a global academic collaboration between the UPSA and the University at Buffalo, USA, which seeks to empower participants to become more effective leaders in their communities whiles assisting them to develop social and professional networks across continents and gain insights into other cultures.
The two beneficiaries, Paul Dwebeng and Victoria Dansowaa Dawson-Ahmoah, were presented with certificates at a brief ceremony held at the Centre for International Education and Collaboration (CIEC).
“The one-year virtual program teaches participants about analytical thinking, self-reflection, creative problem-solving and interpersonal relationships, networking, advancing of skills and making a difference in their societies,” said Prof. Abigail Opoku Mensah, Director of CIEC.
On his part, the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor commended the two students for their diligence, dedication and discipline throughout their period of study.
He was confident that the programme had prepared them for leadership and service, stressing that the exposure and experiences gained would be valuable in their quest to becoming the next generation of global leaders.
The annual LEAP is organised by the University at Buffalo’s School of Management Global Programs Office in partnership with the Center for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness at the same university.
