The University of Professional Studies, Accra, on Wednesday, 30th June 2021, officially welcomed 32 fresh students to the university community at a Special 2021 Matriculation Ceremony.

The ceremony was organised exclusively for newly admitted students of the Master of Arts in Peace, Security and Intelligence Management (MPSI) programme for the 2021/22 academic year at the West Wing Auditorium of the University.

The students, all drawn from the Ministry of National Security and its allied agencies, comprised 12 females and 20 males.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abednego F. O. Amartey, congratulated the freshmen for their admission into the university. He urged them to be fully committed to their studies and embrace hard work to justify their selection for the programme.

In highlighting the importance of the programme, the Vice-Chancellor said the MPSI programme has been meticulously designed to give graduates specialised skills to identify, analyse and respond to emerging security challenges.

He added that the programme offers prospects for research and innovative thinking to challenge students to offer solutions to the myriad security challenges confronting the West African sub-region and the African continent as a whole.

“National security involves government protecting its citizenry from diverse threats with the right response,” the VC said. “This programme will enhance and equip you with the relevant skills and knowledge to perform your role in an effective and efficient manner.”
