The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has continued its 60th anniversary commemorations with a three-day revival, the second event in its three-part UPSA@60 Thanksgiving Series. Held from 11 to 13 September 2026 at the forecourt of Hostels A and B, the revival was organised under the theme, “When the Holy Spirit Comes” (Acts 1:8).
The programme brought together members of the University community, alumni and the public for worship, prayer and biblical reflection. It provided a shared opportunity to express gratitude to God for the University’s 60-year journey while seeking spiritual renewal and divine guidance for the next phase of its development.
The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA joined the gathering alongside renowned Christian leaders, including Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Nicholas Duncan-Williams Ministries, and Bishop Joshua Heward-Mills.
In their messages, the speakers reflected on the transformative power of the Holy Spirit and encouraged participants to pursue lives anchored in faith, purpose and service. They also highlighted the importance of seeking divine wisdom, courage and direction in leadership and in responding to the demands of contemporary society.
Throughout the three-day programme, participants engaged in sessions of praise and worship, prayer and biblical exhortation. The revival created an atmosphere of reflection and fellowship, enabling members of the University community to renew their commitment to the values that have supported UPSA’s growth and institutional development over the past six decades.
The gathering also underscored the place of faith and ethical grounding in the University’s broader commitment to holistic education. It reinforced the importance of developing graduates whose academic and professional competence is complemented by character, responsibility and a commitment to serving society.
The revival concluded with prayers for the continued progress of UPSA and for its leadership, staff, students, alumni and partners. With the second thanksgiving observance now concluded, the University will continue the UPSA@60 Thanksgiving Series with a third and final event as part of activities commemorating six decades of transformative education and impact.
