The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has ushered in a new chapter of student governance following the formal transfer of leadership to newly elected executives of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC). The handing-over ceremony, held on Friday, 10 July 2026, brought together representatives of University Management, student leaders, members of the SRC and the wider student community.

The ceremony marked the conclusion of the tenure of the outgoing SRC President, Mr Prince Bentil, and his administration, whose service contributed to the advancement of student representation and welfare within the University.

In his farewell address, Mr Bentil expressed appreciation to University Management, his fellow executives, student leaders and the entire student body for their support throughout his tenure. He encouraged the incoming administration to remain guided by integrity, accountability, inclusiveness and servant leadership, while consistently advancing the interests of UPSA students.

- Mr Fortune Kamafo – External Affairs
- Ms Priscilla Alorgli-Samari – Women’s Commissioner
- Ms Akushika Vicentia Agboson – Deputy Women’s Commissioner
- Mr Billgate Elikplim Kuvor – Financial Controller
- Mr Joshua Boateng – Auditor
- Mr Osborn Nyantakyi – Electoral Commissioner

Delivering his inaugural address, the new SRC President, Mr Isaac Osafo Junior, thanked the student body for the confidence reposed in his administration. He pledged to work collaboratively with his fellow executives to advance student-centred initiatives, strengthen student representation and deepen constructive engagement between students and University Management.
Mr Osafo Junior also affirmed the administration’s commitment to promoting an inclusive campus environment that supports academic excellence, innovation and the overall welfare of students.

The peaceful transition reflected UPSA’s commitment to responsible student governance and the development of emerging leaders through democratic participation, accountability and service.
