A team of postgraduate students of the MA Brands and Communications Management programme at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) have unveiled Rokalu Cleaning Solutions, a student-led venture designed to provide professional, reliable and environmentally responsible cleaning services. The venture was presented on Saturday, 30 May 2026, as part of a practical learning initiative under the School of Graduate Studies.
Rokalu Cleaning Solutions responds to the growing demand for quality cleaning services in residential, commercial and industrial settings. The initiative also seeks to promote healthier, safer and more sustainable living and working environments.
Led by the team’s Managing Director, Ms Winnifred Cobbinah, the venture offers specialised cleaning solutions for homes, offices, post-construction sites and industrial facilities. Its service model is anchored on professionalism, customer satisfaction, environmental responsibility and attention to detail.
For the student team, Rokalu Cleaning Solutions represents more than a business concept. It demonstrates how entrepreneurial thinking can be applied to everyday social and market needs while creating opportunities for employment, community development and improved public health standards.
“We do not just clean, we care,” Ms Cobbinah said. “We care about health and safety, our environment and the communities we serve.”
The project gave the students hands-on experience in service development, branding, customer engagement and business strategy. It also enabled them to translate classroom concepts into a practical business opportunity with clear market relevance.
The initiative reflects UPSA’s commitment to experiential learning and industry-focused education, particularly through programmes that equip students to identify market gaps, develop viable solutions and respond to emerging societal needs.
Stakeholders who interacted with the team commended the project for its practical relevance and sustainability focus. They noted that environmentally conscious business practices are becoming increasingly important, especially in service sectors where quality, trust and social responsibility shape customer confidence.
Industry professionals present also encouraged the students to maintain high standards of innovation, integrity and customer-centred service as they continue to refine and expand the venture.
