200 UPSA students benefit from Deloitte Ghana training on Sustainability Accounting Standards

Two hundred students have been trained in sustainability accounting standards at a three-day workshop jointly organised by Deloitte Ghana and Faculty of Accounting and Finance of the University of Professional Studies, Accra.

The workshop, which took place from April 24th–26th, aimed to provide accounting students with a comprehensive understanding of the emerging field of sustainability accounting while offering a platform for knowledge transfer.

Participants delved into various sustainability accounting standards and frameworks.

Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance, Prof. Isaac Boadi, explained that the workshop was designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of sustainability reporting and accounting.

“As businesses and organisations place increasing emphasis on environmental, social, and governance factors, it is essential that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of this changing landscape,” Prof. Boadi said.
