Admission personnel from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) have engaged prospective students at the 2023 Career Fair held at the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) at Legon in Accra to educate and guide them through the admission application procedures of the University.
The fair, an annual event, brought together Senior High School students from selected schools in the Greater Accra region as well as representatives from several universities to educate the students on the importance of making informed decisions when selecting their programmes of study.
Mrs Patience Araba Mba, a counsellor at UPSA, highlighted the significance of careful career planning, stressing that it would play a crucial role in shaping the future prospects of students.
The admission team, which included officials from the Academic Affairs Directorate and Counselling Unit of UPSA, also took the students through scholarship facilities and other educational opportunities accessible to prospective students, including the free-tuition policy on all professional programmes.
The dual-qualification policy also allows students to obtain both an academic degree and a professional certificate upon graduation without paying a tuition fee for the latter.
Mr. Denis Attuquayefio, a Senior Assistant Registrar in charge of Admissions, said the event provided a valuable platform for students to learn about different career options and make informed decisions about their future while offering participating universities the opportunity to share information about scholarship opportunities and other educational benefits available to prospective students.
