Notice to Graduands: 5th Session of the 16th Congregation

NOTICE
16TH CONGREGATION-5TH SESSION

This is to inform all 2024 graduands of the School of Graduate Studies of the University that the 5th Session of the 16th Congregation Ceremony will take place to award degree and postgraduate diploma certificates to individuals who have successfully completed their programmes of study during the 2023/2024 academic year. The details of the ceremony are as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 18th December, 2024
Time: 9.00 a.m.
Venue: Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium (KOKA)

1. Registration for the Congregation:
Students who have completed their programmes of study in August/September 2024 in the School of Graduate Studies and wish to be presented at the ceremony are requested to follow the procedure below to register for the ceremony beginning on Friday, 13th December, 2024.

• A non-refundable graduation fee of GH¢500.00 must be paid at any Access Bank Ltd branch and disbursed through the UFIS student payment portal.

• Graduands should log onto their USIS student’s portal and click the “Register for Graduation” tab to register for the graduation ceremony.

The closing date for registration is Tuesday, 17th December, 2024. No late registration will be entertained.

2. List of Graduands:
The list of graduands is available on the University’s website [click here for the Graduating Class List]

3. Collection and Return of the Academic Gown:
Use your proof of registration and the UFIS disbursement print-out to collect the gown and souvenirs from the Front Desk of the School of Graduate Studies from Monday, 16th December, 2024. The deadline for the gown collection is Tuesday, 17th December, 2024 at 5.00 pm.

Graduands must return the academic gowns by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 18th December, 2024. Failure to do so will attract a penalty of GH¢50.00 per day.

4. Attire:
Those to be presented are expected to be seated at the Auditorium by 8:00 a.m. in the appropriate academic gown worn over a suit or jacket with a UPSA necktie or scarf in the case of ladies.

5. Collection of Certificate on Graduation Day
Graduands who wish to collect their certificates on graduation day should clear themselves of all obligations to the University before the collection time.

6. Note Carefully:

• Graduands should note that those who fail to attend the ceremony will still be required to pay the same amount and will need to clear all financial obligations before their souvenirs and certificates are released to them.

• Attendance of the graduation ceremony is limited to the graduating students (graduands) and two guests per graduating student.

• Parties on lawns and other open spaces on campus after the ceremony are prohibited.
