A total of 4,986 students graduated with various degrees at the 15th Congregation of the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
The graduation ceremonies, which were held in four sessions from October 17–20, crowned the academic journeys of 976 postgraduates, 3,106 undergraduates, and 904 diplomates.
The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Professor Abednego F. O. Amartey, commended the UPSA Class of 2023 for their perseverance, determination, and resilience, especially in the face of the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
He urged them to leverage the knowledge and skills that they have acquired from UPSA to excel in the world of work.
He also charged them to sharpen their 21st century skills, which he said include critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, information literacy, and technology literacy.
“As graduates of UPSA, you are well-prepared to face the challenges of the modern world,” Prof. Amartey said.
“Our university has a rich tradition of producing graduates who excel in their respective fields, and I have no doubt that you will continue this legacy.
“As you embark on this new chapter in your lives, remember the values and principles that UPSA has instilled in you. Be courageous, be compassionate, and be the changemakers the world needs. We are proud of you, and we look forward to hearing about your future accomplishments.”
Various speakers who spoke at the commencement ceremonies advised graduates to cultivate a strong commitment to lifelong learning as they embark on the next chapter of their lives, stating that it is a key driver of their personal and professional success.
They highlighted the rapid changes in the business landscape and stressed that a willingness to adapt and learn continuously is crucial for staying relevant and thriving in the competitive global environment.
