UPSA breaks ground for new 6-Storey Administration Tower Block

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abednego Okoe Amartey, has led a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 6-storey administration tower block on the UPSA campus.

The building, which is set to become a central hub for top-level administrative activities, will house executive offices for senior university management, including the Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellors, the Registrar, the Director of Finance, and other key officials.

Prof. Amartey, whose second term of office ends in December, described the project as his “legacy project”, designed to accommodate future administrative staff as the university continues to grow in both numbers and infrastructure.

“A good leader is one who leaves a legacy for the next generation,” Prof. Amartey said. “So I’m cutting sod for this project so that successive Vice-Chancellors and their top managers will have a conducive environment to work in.”

The project is expected to be completed within 24 months.

A representative for the project consultant, Mr Victor Panford elaborated on the design, highlighting features such as executive offices and dedicated car parks for top officials, conference rooms, printing and server rooms, storerooms, kitchenettes, and general office areas.

The state-of-the-art building is anticipated to not only improve administrative efficiency but also contribute to the university’s broader mission of providing top-quality educational infrastructure.
