UPSA lecturer, Dr. Selase Asamoah adjudged Best International graduate in the Czech Republic

Dr. Emmanuel Selase Asamoah, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration at UPSA, is the proud recipient of the 2020 Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS) Awards for the ‘Study in the Czech Republic – International Alumni Award.’

Dr. Asamoah, a graduate of the Tomas Bata University (TBU) in Zlín, Czech Republic, received the accolade in recognition of his contribution to the human resource development of his country by inspiring and supporting many students in Ghana to pursue higher education abroad.

The Czech National Agency for International Education and Research recognises the best achievements in the field of international cooperation and internationalization of education, with focus on individuals and institutions carrying out activities in that regard.

Dr. Asamoah’s proposal was selected from among hundreds of applications received by the jury of experts from international alumni across the globe, out of which the best six proposals were shortlisted for the ultimate prize.

The annual awards gala was this time held virtually and prizes were awarded to successful projects carried out through DZS managed programmes, such as Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps or CEEPUS.

Presenting the award to Dr Asamoah on behalf of DZS Awards on Tuesday, January 26 at the Czech Republic Embassy in Accra, Mr. Ján Füry, the Czech Ambassador to Ghana congratulated the astute lecturer, who is also the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies at UPSA.

He expressed his country’s commitment to partnering individuals and educational institutions that are facilitating the promotion of educational tourism in his country.

Meanwhile, the Management of TBU has commended Dr. Emmanuel Asamoah for his accomplishment.

“We greatly appreciate the accomplishment achieved by Emmanuel,” Ing. Michaela Blahová (PhD), Vice-Rector for Internationalization at TBU told the Universitas Magazine for Universities.

Dr. Emmanuel Selase Asamoah, prior to joining UPSA, worked as a Consultant to the United Nations in the sphere of investment opportunities in Ghana. He is also a mentor to and legal representative of disadvantaged children and women in Ghana.

He has participated in many international conferences and published more than thirty articles in international scientific journals. Emmanuel is a big promoter of studying abroad. He has already supported more than a hundred senior high school students who, with his help, have successfully started studying at various universities.

Dr. Asamoah teaches courses such as Global Dimensions of Business, Business Leadership and Ethics, Managing People and Work Environment in Quality, and Leadership and Ethics, among others, all at the graduate level.
